About – Diasporina

I'm Emma. I left my family in Yerevan to come to America to get my Master's Degree in 2013. I sincerely thank you for taking the time to visit shopdiasporina.com!

While studying in Illinois, I ended up meeting my husband at my university, and we now live in Minnesota with our daughter.  Minnesota is a wonderful state to live in, and while the Armenian community is small, it is both welcoming and thriving!

In 2016 I started a blog to talk about many of my experiences and observations as an Armenian expat living in the US. It also gave me an outlet to share a bit of my culture as an 'Eastern' Armenian. It's been a fun project, but I've wanted to do more.

So, along with my husband, we've started an online store that specializes in bringing back the Armenian designs and motifs that defined our culture's historical textiles and manuscripts. Along with that, we are working on more modern designs that communicate our history, our unity, and our pride of being Armenian.

We also are big believers in 'giving back' and like most Armenians, the Church is an important part of our lives. To that end, we donate 10% of our profits to the Armenian Apostolic Church via St. Sahag Armenian Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
